A State Funeral was held at St John’s Cathedral (Belize City) on Monday, September 24, 2018.
Ashes were placed in a mahogany box, taken to the cathedral; the Belize Defence Force carried his remains outside; a 21-gun salute was fired.
His ashes were thrown out to sea in accordance with his wishes.

1984 - 1986 - He served as the Minister of Agriculture/Forestry/Fisheries under Prime Minister Manuel Esquivel.
Sept. 20, 1993 - October 1, 1993 - He had a short stint as Belize's Ambassador to the United States
Dean Russel Lindo died at his home in Buttonwood Bay, Belize City, on September 17, 2018, at age 86. Family reported he had been ill for about a year and had complications including diabetes and heart issues.
The Right Reverend Philip Wright, Bishop of Belize, presided over the religious service and delivered the sermon.
