Event: Body Lying in State – Belize City
Location: Bliss Institute for the Performing Arts, Belize City
Details:
Casket draped with the Belizean flag; honour guard from the Belize Defence Force (BDF).
Catholic, Anglican, Methodist, and Evangelical clergy offered prayers.
Citizens filed past throughout the day to pay respects.
Evening: The coffin was transported to the Holy Redeemer Cathedral for an overnight vigil attended by family and dignitaries.

The body was later returned to Belize City in preparation for the state funeral.
Monday, September 26, 2011 – State Funeral
07:00 a.m. – Funeral Procession (Belize City)
Casket taken from Price’s home on Pickstock Street to the Holy Redeemer Cathedral.
Streets lined with mourners; bells tolled; BDF and Police bands led the cortege.
09:00 a.m. – Funeral Mass (Holy Redeemer Cathedral)
Concelebrated Catholic Mass with Bishop Dorick Wright.
Attended by Governor-General Sir Colville Young, Prime Minister Dean Barrow, former PM Said Musa, Cabinet members, diplomatic corps, and Price family.
11:00 a.m. – Transfer to Belmopan
Casket flown or transported by motorcade to Belmopan for the official state ceremony.
Along the route, communities gathered to pay final respects.
1:00 p.m. – State Ceremony at Independence Hill, Belmopan
Full military honours: 21-gun salute, flag bearers, and BDF pallbearers.

Event: Passing of Rt. Hon. George Cadle Price
Details: Price passed away early Monday morning at Belize Healthcare Partners Hospital, Belize City, at age 92. He had suffered a fall at home days earlier and underwent surgery for a head injury.
Official Action: Prime Minister Dean Barrow announced his death and declared a period of national mourning from September 19 to 26.
Symbols: National flags ordered to half-mast; condolence books opened at Government House and ministries.
