Maxwell Samuels was eulogized by the then P.U.P. Party Leader, Francis Fonseca at a service in Willows Bank, Belize District. Interment followed in Burrell Boom.
1981 - 1986 - Commissioner of Police
1993 - 2008 - Elected as Area Representative for Belize Rural North for three consecutive terms
1998 - 2005 - Served as Minister of Communications, Transport and Public Utilities
On April 24, 2014, Samuels was hospitalized for a pulmonary embolism at the Belize Healthcare Partners Limited (BHPL).
He was being treated for a blood clot in his lung when he suffered the first heart attack on April 27 and another on April 28. He passed away at around 4pm.////
The eulogy at that service was delivered by then People’s United Party Leader Francis Fonseca, recognizing Samuels’ decades in public life and his service to Belize Rural North.
